Desaturate — Privacy Policy

Desaturate is a Chrome extension that removes color from websites you select, to reduce compulsive browsing. This policy explains what data the extension handles.

What Desaturate stores

The only data Desaturate stores is the list of website domains you choose to desaturate (for example, facebook.com). This list is saved using Chrome's built-in sync storage, which means it lives in your browser and, if you have Chrome sync enabled, in your own Google account so your settings follow you across your devices.

What Desaturate does not do

• It does not collect, transmit, or sell any data. The extension makes no network requests of any kind.
• It does not read, record, or analyze the content of pages you visit.
• It does not track your browsing history, clicks, or time on site.
• It contains no analytics, no advertising, and no remote code.

The developer has no server and receives nothing from your browser. Your site list is never visible to the developer or to any third party.

Permissions

• Storage — saves your chosen site list, as described above.
• Scripting — applies a grayscale stylesheet to the sites you selected, and removes it if you deselect a site.
• Site access — granted only for sites you explicitly select, via Chrome's permission prompt. Desaturate has no access to any other site.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the extension removes the stored site list. You can also clear it at any time from the extension's options page by deselecting all sites.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
